Meet the Principal
Hello Calapooia Families,
I’m honored to serve my second year as the Principal of Calapooia Middle School. I’ve been fortunate to be part of this incredible community for 23 years—first as an English language arts and social studies teacher, then as Dean of Students and Assistant Principal, and currently as Principal.
I am passionate about helping students grow not just academically, but also socially and emotionally. I believe deeply in the power of strong partnerships between school and home to ensure every student thrives. We are a team and it’s imperative that we work together.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include camping, rafting, snow skiing, and exploring all corners of Oregon. I’m also a proud graduate of the University of Oregon—Go Ducks!
I look forward to a great year ahead, working together to make sure every student at Calapooia feels safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Meet the Assistant Principal
Calapooia Families,
I am honored to serve as Calapooia’s Assistant Principal, a role that is especially meaningful to me since I was once a student here myself. Since 2003, I’ve had the privilege of working in Albany schools as a classified staff member, special education teacher, Dean of Students, Special Programs Coordinator, and now Assistant Principal.
I believe school should be a place where students not only grow academically, but also as individuals. Building trusting relationships, developing coping skills, and overcoming barriers are just as important as learning in the classroom. My hope is that every student is met where they are, equipped with the tools they need, and prepared for success in high school and beyond.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the outdoors. My hobbies include raising 11 chickens and ducks, gardening, camping, and discovering new places across Oregon. I am also a proud alumnus of Oregon State University, Pacific University, and Concordia University of Chicago. Go Beavs, Boxers, and Cougars!
